Nike moves to reclaim the beautiful game in this World Cup ad starring one-time footballer Eric Cantona. Gone is the high concept, urban streetscape and trendy soundtrack of football ads of yore. This spots starts in a television studio where football pundits are discussing a match until Cantona stages an coup. Cantona laments that liars and cheaters [sic] are making a fool of the game. But against a backdrop of some of the world's best footballers in action, including Wayne Rooney and Thierry Henry, he declares: "I am here to remind the world that this game is about skills, heart, honour, joy, team spirit... Together -- me and you -- we can make it beautiful again. Beautiful!" The ad backs the launch of Eric Cantona's internet television station Joga TV, which can be seen on nikefootball.com.
