Lowdown

Never afraid to confront the industry with some unpalatable truths about itself, Fletcher continues his prodigious literary output. His 14th book, Powers of Persuasion, a history of UK advertising during the second half of the last century, was published this year. Ever the contentious industry observer, he told guests at the book's launch party: \"You can always tell when an adman is lying – his lips move.\"
