KP man takes on Sun marketing job

News International has appointed snack and nut marketer Nick Canning as the new head of marketing for The Sun and News Of The World.

LONDON (Brand Republic) – News International has appointed snack and nut marketer Nick Canning as the new head of marketing for The Sun and News Of The World.

Canning, formerly marketing director at KP Foods, takes on the company’s online brands, page3.com and footballfc.com in addition to the newspaper titles.

He replaces Ellis Watson, formerly general manager of The Sun’s ISP bun.com and marketing director of The Sun and News Of The World.

He will report to News Group Media managing director Clive Milner, overseeing agency relationships, with an estimated spend of £16.8m for both titles.

Creative is currently handled by TBWA GGT Simons Palmer, with media through Carat.
