Europe's largest distributor of digital music television, Music Choice Europe, is searching for creative and media agencies to drive its European expansion plans.
The London-based marketing consultant Branded is understood to have shortlisted a range of UK agencies to pitch for the pounds 2 million business.
Music Choice, which is 49 per cent owned by BSkyB, offers a range of 50 music channels to subscribers in 18 countries across Europe and Africa. The content, which covers every musical style from country and western to North African, is available through digital and satellite TV platforms as well as via the internet. In the UK, Music Choice is available through Sky's Open system.
The company has earmarked pounds 10 million in investment to drive up its base of five million subscribers through increasing the range of its distribution.
Future platforms could include WAP and online TV offerings.
Music Choice Europe was originally founded in 1993 by Sony and Warner Music and the cable and satellite company General Instrument. The company last week set its flotation price at 162 pence per share, which will allow it to raise pounds 50 million for future expansion through an initial public offering.
