Paul Hammersley, a senior executive at the Lowe Group in North

America and the worldwide co-ordinator on the Coca-Cola account, is

returning to London to become the managing director of Lowe

Howard-Spink.

Hammersley, 35, replaces Tim Lindsay, the current managing director, who

is promoted to chief executive. Lindsay also takes on responsibility for

Lowe Direct and the sales promotion agency, Interfocus.

The appointments follow a major restructure of the Lowe Group’s

advertising network, Lowe and Partners Worldwide. The network will be

divided into four regions - Europe, North America, Latin America and

Asia Pacific - with regional management reporting to a newly created

worldwide board chaired by Frank Lowe, the Lowe Group’s founder,

chairman and chief executive.

Europe will be run by Adrian Holmes, Lowe Howard-Spink’s chairman, who

becomes European chairman and chief creative officer, and Jerry Judge,

the agency’s chief executive, who is promoted to European chief

executive. Judge also shares the title of co-chairman of Lowe

Howard-Spink with the agency’s creative director, Paul Weinberger.

Lowe said: ’It’s marvellous to have talented people to promote and it’s

great to have jobs to promote them into. Paul Hammersley has done a

superb job in America but he just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be

managing director of Lowe Howard-Spink. If the agency can carry on

winning new business at this rate and keep up its high creative

standards, it has a major chance of being in the top five.’

Hammersley, who has worked for the Lowe Group in North America since

1993, will retain his responsibilities for Coca-Cola.

He began his advertising career as a trainee account executive at

Saatchi and Saatchi 13 years ago. During his time at Charlotte Street,

Hammersley worked on the Carlsberg-Tetley, Harvey’s Bristol Cream, NSPCC

and Vodafone accounts.
