Bunderberg Rum - Leo Burnett Australia Diageo is aiming to reinvent the Australian spirit Bunderberg Rum - affectionately known as Bundy. The new campaign, which stars a talking polar bear, intends to dispel the myth that Bundy is a drink for sheep shearers and bushrangers. "Inflatable" sees the bear sabotage his and his mates' rubber dinghy, in order that they might get rescued by a passing boat crewed by bikini-clad lovelies. "Valentine" finds him in a similarly ingenious mood, inviting his friends and their partners round to dinner and strategically placing a TV showing the football so that only the men can see it.

Mott's Canada - DDB Canada

"Have you, or someone you know, been involved in a celery-related accident?" an earnest lawyer asks in DDB Toronto's new ad for Mott's Clamato clam-and-tomato flavour cocktail. Despite some hammy celery-in-the-eye moments, the spot features a strong central performance from the lawyer - a character who is clearly uncomfortable in front of the camera. Titled "Abrams & Ross", the ad, directed by David Hicks from the Partners Film Company, spoofs the ambulance-chasing ads of law firms eager to flex their litigious muscles in the famously claimant-friendly US courts.

United Nations - Shanghai-Berlin Germany

Among other things, it turns out 2004 is "the year of rice": a celebration of the staple food that sustains more than half of the world's population. Shanghai-Berlin's three print executions, designed to raise rice awareness, show hugely oversized single grains, with a strapline that declares rice to be "the greatest food on earth" and calls for every single grain to be celebrated. An agency spokesman reveals that the grains used in the pictures were made of wax, and that lengthy discussions were had on the subject of what giant rice would look like.

Remy Martin - BETC Euro RSCG France

The director Paul Gore, from Flynn Productions, has directed "the rain" for Remy Martin. The ad tells the story of what happens when two people in completely separate locations share the same feeling of pleasure. A man walks through the dusky Thai countryside in the rain while a woman reclines in the luxury of her private jet. As she takes a sip of her Remy Martin cognac, the rain-soaked businessman turns his face to the sky and catches a golden-brown rain drop in his mouth. Both find the pleasure in the moment almost unbearable - she grips her armrest in ecstasy while he mirrors her action by gripping his collar. The commercial launches across Asia this autumn. It will then be extended to Russia before arriving in the UK later in the year.
