Business Performance League 9 December 1996

The big change this week is Simons Palmer Clemmow Johnson’s meteoric rise to sixth place in the league, following final confirmation from the client of its budget for Goldbrand. The addition brings net new-business gains for the agency up to pounds 24.7 million this year, and shunts the previous number six, Lowe Howard-Spink, down to seventh place.

The big change this week is Simons Palmer Clemmow Johnson’s meteoric

rise to sixth place in the league, following final confirmation from the

client of its budget for Goldbrand. The addition brings net new-business

gains for the agency up to pounds 24.7 million this year, and shunts the

previous number six, Lowe Howard-Spink, down to seventh place.

None of the other moves over the past two weeks have been on anywhere

near the same scale. M&C Saatchi shaved pounds 800,000 off its total, by

losing Carlton Select to Doner Cardwell Hawkins, while Abbott Mead

Vickers BBDO has been credited with an extra pounds 2.7 million to its

Wrangler win in November, bringing the total of that account in the UK

to pounds 5 million. In addition, Publicis picked up pounds 1.5 million

from Hewlett-Packard and WCRS won a similar amount from the furniture

chain, Habitat.

Last week’s Michelob move pared pounds 2.1 million from BMP DDB’s net

total, and added the same amount to that of Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters.
