- Direct Network Publishing has revamped its online music magazine, Music365.com, with the introduction of online shopping and a huge searchable music database dating back to 1944.
The latest changes are designed to help it compete against market leading rivals, NME.com and Dotmusic.com.
The Music365 shop will let readers to order CDs, tickets and other merchandise using e-commerce links with partners including Aloud.com, iMVS and CDuctive.
Audio clips of all new releases will be available online so readers can try before they buy. Plans for the future include an MP3 area where wannabe DJ's and record producers can download their favourite tracks and create their own CD's.
A new searchable database means readers will be able to track down obscure records using a new database that lists every record produced in the UK since 1944.
Danny Kelly, publishing director at DNP, said: "We were already satisfied that Music365 was delivering the best news and reviews service of any European website. The improvements and changes we've made take us onto another level."
