Chase Capital to invest £200m in European internet sector

- US venture capital firm Chase Capital Partners is allocating an investment fund of £200 million to invest in internet ventures across Europe.

Together with its strategic partner, Flatiron Partners, CCP is one of the leading investors in US internet stocks. It has invested companies including the financial news website, Thestreet.com, the community site, Geocities, and the digital agency network, iXL.

CCP has also invested in Starmedia in Latin America and Sinanet in China.

CCP's move into Europe will be run from London and it will focus on consumer content, ecommerce and business to business websites.
