JWT acquires TMI Group in the Middle East

- J Walter Thompson has acquired a majority stake in the Middle East communications company, TMI Group, for an undisclosed sum.

TMI (Tihama Al Mona International) has for the last 12 years been an affiliate of JWT and has offices in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Morocco, and Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait and the UK. Its clients include Arab Bank, Carrier, Glaxo Wellcome and Uniceramic.

Michael Madel, president and chief executive officer of JWT Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: "TMI's geographical and client range are just two indicators that demonstrate it ambition. We think there is even more scope for opportunity here and we want to share in that fortune."
