Emap Advertising has appointed Jane Kelsey, the former client sales director for The Guardian, as director of its Market Development division. Kelsey, formerly Davies, joins Emap from the American-owned website Inshop.co.uk, where she spent just over a year as UK managing director.
Kelsey began her career as a sales executive at The Guardian before moving on to become head of features and publisher of the Space and Guide supplements. She spent three years as client sales director before leaving to join Inshop, which provides shoppers with information on retail outlets in different British cities. Kelsey said her latest move was not an indication of difficulties at the website.
At Emap, Kelsey will take responsibility for developing cross media deals across Emap's portfolio of magazines, TV, Radio and online brands. She will be asked to focus primarily on the film, drinks, music and automotive markets and will report directly to Emap Advertising's managing director Tom Toumazis.
"Jane is a great addition," said Toumazis. "She has a wealth of experience in the media industry and her knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise will bring an added dimension to the team."
Kelsey said: "The opportunity to work across Emap's portfolio to deliver integrated solutions on behalf of clients is unmissable. I've covered this area before but on a much smaller scale. It's pretty exciting stuff."
