Diary: Publicis director landing accounts ... and planes

It's no secret that robust senior management and a strong pitch team combine to win business. So all credit to Publicis for pulling in the easyJet account to sit alongside Airbus.
But as the agency continues to function without a chairman, chief executive and managing director, Diary wonders who exactly is responsible for landing these big airline accounts into the Baker Street offices?
Well, the secret is now out. Diary has learned that the Publicis director in charge, Tim Grace- McDonald, is a qualified pilot, replete with licence and his own plane. He is already known to have wowed Airbus bosses in Paris by flying the account team to France for status meetings in his private jet. And he's said to be licking his lips at the prospect of working (and flying) with the orange-clad low-cost team from Luton Airport.
But a word of warning. Diary understands that easyJet is hungry for new pilots (particularly as its current ones have to pay for their own training). Seeing as Publicis has had its fair share of poaches this year, Grace-McDonald is probably one talent to guard closely.
