Adlink Internet Media is making good its pledge to challenge the

UK’s online sales leaders, poaching one of 24/7’s longest-serving

salesmen, Patrick Fidgen, and winning a host of accounts.

Fidgen, a former media planner and buyer at Booth Lockett Makin, has

worked on 24/7 Media UK’s team since its launch in early 1999.

He has joined Adlink as a senior sales executive alongside two other

newcomers - client sales manager Martine Johnson and account manager

Claire Burstow.

Adlink’s managing director Richard Holman confirmed he had also hired a

sales director but said it was too early to give further details.

Meanwhile, the company has been chosen to handle sales for five new

clients.

They include an unnamed internet service provider and Moonfruit.com, a

design site that launched in January and has 20,000 registered

users.

Richard Bennett, business development director, said: ’The new sites

will not make a significant difference in terms of page impressions but

they are likely to sell well in terms of desire for advertising. They

offer good targeting and there are at least a couple that people have

heard about.’

The purchase of Belgian net ad sales company PubliCast has helped make

German-owned Adlink ’probably the largest network in Europe,’ Holman

said.
