Aegis Group unveils launch date for Vizeum network

Aegis Group has confirmed that Vizeum, its second-string media network that will house BBJ, will launch on 16 June.

The media holding company, which also owns Carat, had not previously set a date for Vizeum's launch. Aegis also confirmed the launch of new group Aegis Media that has been created to house all of Aegis's media brands.

Aegis Media, which will support Carat, Vizeum and the Aegis outdoor specialist, Posterscope, has been designed to increase co-operation within the group and to optimise buying clout.

Carat and Vizeum will continue to operate as separate media networks but there will be shared back office services and internal resources via a division called Aegis Media Central Services.

Mark Craze, the chief executive of Carat UK and Ireland, becomes the chief executive of Aegis Media in the same region, while Bruno Kemoun and Eryck Rebbouh become the joint chief executives of Aegis Media Europe.

Doug Flynn, the chief executive of Aegis, said: "The creation of Aegis Media will allow us to both maximise the scale and efficiency benefits that exist within the Aegis Group, and provide an improved platform from which to grow the business. The structure means that both Carat and Vizeum will enjoy the group's buying volume and centralised services."

Vizeum will be headed by Eric Drancourt, the current chairman of Carat International, who becomes chief executive. Martyn Rattle, the vice-president of Carat International, will become the chief operating officer.
