Agencies fight for worldwide gambling ad brief

Betsson, the Swedish gambling operator that promotes "no bullshit betting", is contacting agencies about its international advertising account ahead of a UK marketing push.

The company is looking for a London hub to work across key markets after recently appointing Omnicom’s Rocket to its seven-figure media planning and buying account.

Betsson owns the Betsafe brand, which is expected to invest heavily in TV advertising as part of an ambition to break into the UK’s competitive betting and casino sector.

Last year, Betsafe hired Crispin Porter & Bogusky Scandinavia to launch its "no bullshit betting", which used the unusual marketing tactic of telling consumers that the odds of winning are against them. 

CP&B Scandinavia was named Betsafe’s global agency of record after a pitch in February 2015. CP&B London has a client conflict after winning Betstars in February.

Betsson was unavailable for comment.
