Agencies line up as Total calls review of below-the-line task

Total, the petrol forecourt retailer, is reviewing its below-the-line account in the UK. The company has sent out a tender document to 20 agencies inviting them to take part in the review for the business, which is currently held by Boymeetsgirl S&J.

The review is part of a three-year statutory process, which will see ten agencies longlisted after the first stage. A shortlist of three will go through to pitch towards the end of the year.

Boymeetsgirl is expected to be among the final three.

The review process is in the very early stages - the request for submission proposals was only sent out this week.

Total's above-the-line advertising account is handled in the UK by Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy.

The statutory review is not expected to extend to the above-the-line business.

Total refused to comment on the story as Campaign went to press.
