TV and outdoor sales house AH Media is extending its operation to

include online advertising and marketing, according to a report in this

week’s Campaign. The company is also considering a move into radio

sales.

Ex Granada Mediasales director Andy Hawkins, who founded AH Media last

autumn, is creating a division to deal with web services and is seeking

three sales staff to sell space on Storm Radio, the company’s first net

account.

Hawkins is looking to hire seven more sales people to work across

existing accounts, as well as a potential radio sales account.

Storm Radio, which will be aimed at 16- to 34-year-olds, will have

celebrity DJs such as glamour model Jo Guest. The station, which claims

to be the first dedicated net radio station, will be linked to a major

internet service provider.

Hawkins said the new unit, prospectively called Beyond the Banner, would

act as a commercial arm for internet companies, with a focus on

marketing and on- and off-air promotions. He said Storm Radio had the

potential to accrue three million listeners by the end of the year.
