The television sales house AH Media is extending its remit to

interactive advertising and marketing services following its appointment

to represent Storm Radio, the first dedicated internet radio station in

the UK.

Andy Hawkins, a former sales director of Granada Media Sales who founded

AH Media last autumn, has called the new division Beyond the Banner.

Storm Radio is owned by the former Radio 1 DJ Bruno Brooks, through his

media company BBM&E.

Storm Radio, which will be a music station aimed at 16- to 34-year-olds,

will feature celebrity DJs and be linked to a leading internet service

provider.

Hawkins said: ’We will not just offer banner sales and general

advertising sales. Beyond the Banner will act as a commercial arm for

internet companies, focusing on marketing as well as on-air and off-air

promotions.’

He added that Storm Radio has the potential to gain three million

listeners by the end of the year through its distribution arrangements.

He is seeking new staff to work for the internet business arm.
