Once again Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has retained its position as
the biggest advertising agency in the UK, claiming the top slot for the
fourth year running according to the Campaign Top 300 report published
AMV posted a 7 per cent increase in business to bring its 1999 billings
to pounds 382.46 million, stretching the gap over its nearest rival,
Lowe Lintas, to more than pounds 55 million.
The fastest-growing agency within the top ten was BMP DDB, which
recorded a 36 per cent increase in billings to pounds 306.27 million,
catapulting it into the number three slot.
In the media league, Zenith and Carat keep their number one and two
slots, with billings of pounds 582.19 million and pounds 518.63 million
respectively. BMP OMD moves to third place.
