You’re stuck behind a bus, fuming at the traffic as you
simultaneously inhale petrol fumes. But now you can console yourself
with thoughts of a less polluted environment, thanks to the largest ever
bus-rear advertising campaign, sold by TDI. Esso is running the campaign
on 3,700 bus rears across the country to promote the roll-out of its
Lead Replacement Petrol.
This will not only replace four star with cleaner fuel, but also
eradicate the need for pricey engine conversions. Four star is being
phased out at the beginning of next year as part of the government’s
strategy to improve air quality. The month-long campaign was created by
McCann-Erickson and booked by Universal McCann through outdoor
specialist IPM. The rep at TDI was Suzan Antonowicz.
TDI’s marketing director Mike Baker commented: ’The transport connection
makes the ads highly relevant - and directly targeted to the desired
audience.’ So next time a Routemaster pulls out in front of you, don’t
curse - congratulate yourself on being part of a valuable market
