- AOL UK has announced that ABC //electronic, in conjunction with the US's ABC Interactive, will provide independent ongoing audits of advertisements delivered on the AOL UK proprietary network and AOL UK's two web-based properties, its portal site aol.co.uk and its search engine, AOL NetFind.
AOL UK will work with ABC //electronic which will endorse and verify ABC Interactive's audits. The initial audit run by ABC Interactive reviewed AOL's ad delivery and record-keeping systems and found them to fairly represent actual activity.
Ian Maude, Head of Advertising at AOL UK, said: "As the UK's number one Internet and online service provider, we need to supply our advertisers with independently audited reports. We anticipate that, in future, all advertisers will insist on third-party approved and audited reports for their online advertising."
He went on: "Our relationship with ABC Interactive in the US and ABC //electronic in the UK demonstrates AOL's determination to raise standards of reporting and making this medium more accountable."
