Apple celebrates its most famous tech and ads with '40 years in 40 seconds' spot

Apple will turn 40 on 1 April this year, celebrating the fact with a spot aired during its iPhone SE keynote.

The quickfire ad runs through Apple's many innovations over the decades, starting with the Apple I, Apple II, the failed Lisa and the first Mac.

Apple also references some of its most famous ad campaigns and taglines, including '1984', 'Think Different' and Steve Jobs' tagline for the iPod, '1,000 songs in your pocket'. There's also a playful reference to the Newton, the failed PDA rivalled by the Palm Pilot. The 'I'm a PC. I'm a Mac' campaign also appears.
