- Ray Hall, the director of the Audit Bureau of Circulations, has left the company following a meeting with chairman Geoffrey Copeman.
It is understood that the two mutually agreed that Hall should leave the company. He does not have a job to go to.
Hall, who has been at the ABC for three years, developed the Verified Free Distribution activities of the ABC and more recently played a leading role in attempting to resolve the acrimonious circulation dispute between the Telegraph Group and Times Newspapers.
The search for a successor has already begun. In the meantime, Anthony Peacham, head of operations at ABC, will temporarily assume the role of director, with additional support from Copeman.
According to Copeman: "Ray has played an important role in both the development of the VFD brand, and the recent development of ABC. His personal dedication to the ABC is symbolised by his commitment to the resolution of the recent dispute concerning national newspapers. We wish him well."
