Bates wins $41m Ballantine's Scotch Whisky

- Bates Worldwide has won a place on the Allied Domecq Spirits and Wine advertising agency roster with an assignment to handle the $41 million (£25 million) global Ballantine's Scotch Whisky account.

Ballantine's, the company's biggest brand, appointed Bates following a three way pitch against BBDO Europe and Saatchi & Saatchi.

The appointment is the first since the arrival of Todd Martin as global marketing director at Allied Domecq Spirits and Wine.

It is being seen as the first stage of a marketing review for Ballantine's that may eventually see the brand developed more fully in the UK.
