- The BBC's Jurassic Park-like series and the film Notting Hill have boosted the value of Lord Saatchi's AIM-listed special effects firm, Megalomedia, sending its shares soaring 67 per cent to 45.5p.

The stock has more than doubled since last Friday. The firm specialises in digital images for television and film.

However, it is the highly praised BBC programme 'Walking with Dinosaurs', which screened its second episode on Monday, that seems to have attracted investors' imaginations.

In a statement the company said it knew of no special reason for the surge in its shares, but added that the critical acclaim for the work of its digital services division had reinforced its position as Europe's leading special effects provider.
