BBC Magazines transfers Gardens Illustrated to Origin

LONDON - BBC Magazines is transferring publishing of its Gardens Illustrated title to its specialist magazine arm Origin.

The title will be published from Origin's Bristol offices from April. BBC Magazines acquired Origin last year.

BBC Magazines has taken the decision because of Origin's track record of producing special interest titles. Last year BBC transferred publication of BBC History, BBC Music and BBC Wildlife to Origin.

The relocation of Gardens Illustrated will affect seven staff who will have the opportunity to transfer to Origin.

Marcus Arthur, publishing director for BBC Magazines' gardening group, said: "The three specialist titles BBC Magazines moved to Origin last year are now in great shape and I'm very confident the same level of success will be achieved by this transfer."
