BBC reaches series high with Strictly but X Factor results ratings down

Strictly Come Dancing pulled in an average audience of 10.7 million people for its results show last night.

The BBC show, which was broadcast between 7.15pm and 8pm, was filmed at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool and resulted in Jamelia leaving the competition on Sunday evening (22 November).

Over on ITV, The X Factor results show pulled in 8.1 million people at a five-minute peak last night. The average audience was 6.8 million, with a 28 per cent share of viewers between 8pm and 9pm. The average audience was down from last week at 7.2 million.

The show featured the departure of Anton Stephens, leaving Simon Cowell with no acts in the talent contest.

At 9pm, I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! saw 9.7 million people tune in at a five-minute peak. The average audience was 8.8 million, taking a 38 per cent share of those watching TV at that time.

Strictly won the battle of the entertainment shows again on Saturday night as an average of 10.4 million people tuned in. The show aired between 6.50pm and 8.10pm.

The X Factor, which was broadcast at 8pm, pulled in 7.7 million viewers at a five-minute peak and an average of 6.8 million. The show saw the departure of Mason Noise on Saturday night.

I’m a Celebrity attracted 8.1 million people at a five-minute peak, and an average of 7.4 million between 9.40pm and 10.40pm.
