BBDO Chicago wins global spirits brief

- Allied Domecq Spirits USA has awarded BBDO Chicago the $12 million advertising account for the US's leading imported liqueur brand, Kahlua, following a competitive review.

- Allied Domecq Spirits USA has awarded BBDO Chicago the $12 million advertising account for the US's leading imported liqueur brand, Kahlua, following a competitive review.

The search had recently been narrowed to three agencies with Square One of Dallas and the incumbent, Lois/EJL Chicago, the other finalists.

The transition from Lois/EJL Chicago to BBDO Chicago will begin immediately with a new campaign scheduled to be introduced in the first quarter of 1999.

Concurrently, Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine named BBDO global agency of record for Kahlua, according to Eric Relyea, vice president, international marketing for Kahlua's global brand development group in Los Angeles.
