Bcom3 to hire Eileen Kamerick as its first chief financial officer

Bcom3 has broken with established practice among the world's

leading communications groups by appointing a woman as its financial

chief.

Eileen Kamerick, named as the group's executive vice-president and chief

financial officer, stands alone among the biggest agency holding

companies as the only female in what has been an otherwise

male-dominated job.

She is also the first CFO to be appointed by the group, the umbrella

organisation for Leo Burnett, D'Arcy and Starcom MediaVest, in which

Japan's Dentsu has a 20 per cent stake.

Kamerick joins from United Stationers, where she had been working as

vice-president and chief financial officer since September last

year.

She previously held a similar role at BP Amoco America and is a former

vice-president and treasurer of the Whirlpool Corporation.

A Chicago law school graduate, Kamerick also graduated with honours in

finance and international business from the University of Chicago's

graduate school of business.

Roger Haupt, Bcom3's chairman and chief executive, cited Kamerick's

diverse background with public companies as key to the group's efforts

to grow its operations and become more effective.

He said: "Eileen's experience in financial reporting and management,

mergers and acquisitions and strategic planning will be invaluable."
