BDDH picks BT’s Cobb to fill operations role

Partners BDDH has poached the senior BT advertising executive and former Still Price Lintas board director, Jeff Cobb, for the newly created role of operations partner at the agency.

Partners BDDH has poached the senior BT advertising executive and

former Still Price Lintas board director, Jeff Cobb, for the newly

created role of operations partner at the agency.



Cobb, who spent seven years at Lintas before joining BT, became one of

the agency’s youngest board members at the age of 27. He was deputy

creative services director when he left Still Price.



As head of advertising procurement at BT, he was responsible for all

commercial relationships between the telecoms giant and its advertising

agencies, including Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO and BDDH, as well as

running all pitches.



Cobb will oversee the operations side of BDDH, from production to buying

supplies and IT. He will also handle resource planning and look at how

the agency can best structure itself to meet client needs. He becomes

the 12th partner at BDDH.



Nigel Long, the chief executive of Partners BDDH, commented: ’He really

understands the pressures on an advertiser. He brings an understanding

of the skills a client wants us to have.’



Cobb, who also chairs an Incorporated Society of British Advertisers

committee on contractual matters, added: ’What I’m going to be looking

at is how things work, right from receiving briefs through to campaigns

going out of the door. My work so far has given me insight into how the

relationships work between agencies and clients.’
