Beatty takes up top Newspaper Society marketing post

LONDON - Kevin Beatty, managing director of Northcliffe Newspapers, has been appointed as the next chairman of the Newspaper Society's marketing committee.

Beatty's chairmanship will take effect from July 1, when he replaces current chairman Jim Brown, from Newsquest Media Group.

The NS marketing committee oversees all elements of the organisation's marketing and communications work across newspaper sales, readership, events and research.

Beatty, who joined Northcliffe in 2001 from Associated Newspapers, is a former managing director of the Mail on Sunday. He is joined on the marketing committee by John Bills, managing director of Liverpool Daily Post & Echo; Robin Burgess, group chief executive at CN Group; and Danny Cammiade, director of operations at Johnston Press.
