- Societe BIC has appointed TBWA International to its estimated $45 million global advertising business for its BIC pens, lighters and shavers following a four-way pitch.

Competing agencies for the business were incumbent Grey Advertising, Ogilvy & Mather and Euro RSCG. DDB Needham Worldwide is also understood to have taken part in an earlier round.

The appointment of TBWA does not affect Ogilvy & Mather's hold on the European creative for the Bic-owned correction fluid, Tipp-Ex.

TBWA will jointly service the account out of TBWA Chiat/Day and TBWA BDDP, Paris, both of which took part in the pitch.
