Nigel Brophy, a veteran of the Irish media scene, has been recruited to set up the new operation, although Billetts is looking to recruit a managing director. Brian Sparks has joined Billetts Ireland as a non-executive director. The Dublin office follows the opening of two new outposts in Madrid and Paris last month.
Andy Pearch, chief executive of Billetts Media Consulting, said: "We aim to help our customers gain unfair competitive advantage in their media value through a combination of expert media planning advice and sophisticated media buying benchmarking. We think that media consultancy in Ireland has been underserved and aim to improve quality and raise the standard of advice available to advertisers."
Billetts competitor Media Audits already has a presence in Ireland.
Brophy has 20 years of media experience and started his career at Dublin's Young Advertising. He has also worked at Zenith Media in London and at Starcom Motive Worldwide. Brophy set up Mediator in Dublin -- a media independent that was later sold to Mediaedge:cia.
