BJK&E Media has drawn up a shortlist of entrants for its Daimler Chrysler Media Idea of the Year award.

BJK&E Media has drawn up a shortlist of entrants for its Daimler

Chrysler Media Idea of the Year award.

Sky TV, More Group, The Mail on Sunday, The Daily Telegraph, The

Guardian and The Observer have beaten 21 entries to make it to the

finals of the competition (Media Business, 8 November).

Each media-owner team will now present its idea to a panel of BJK&E

judges, including managing director Mark Patterson, board account

director James Jennings and media group head Tara Marus.

The teams will also pitch their entries direct to the client: Chrysler

Jeep marketing director Steve Gray.

The agency/client panel will decide which is the best idea for the

launch of the PT Cruiser and the Mercedes C-Class by 29 March.

Patterson said: ’We were delighted at the quantity of responses and the

quality of thinking. Some media owners strayed off the brief but most

stuck to it really well.’

Media campaigns for the PT Cruiser and the C-Class will begin in June or

July. The PT Cruiser is scheduled to reach UK showrooms in the summer

and the C-Class will launch in the autumn.

Aside from seeing their idea come to life, the winning team will walk

off with pounds 1,000 in prize money, although Patterson is asking that

they donate a portion of this to a charity of their choice.
