Rapley, who joins this week, will work alongside the vice-chairman, Leo
Campbell, and report to the chairman Jon Claydon. His role will be more
clearly defined after he has spent some months there, but initially he
will handle the Compaq account, which he handled at BMP.
Rapley is the second high-profile BMP staffer to move to DDB’s direct

one of the four founding partners of Jones Mason and is now the joint
chief executive of Claydon Heeley.

- the direct marketing agency set up by BMP and Claydon Heeley last year
- left after no suitable role was found for him following the merger of
his agency with Claydon Heeley. (Campaign, 14 January)
No-one would comment on Barton’s departure.
