BMP Solutions in Media has walked off with the pounds 27 million planning/buying contract for Reckitt Benckiser.

BMP Solutions in Media has walked off with the pounds 27 million

planning/buying contract for Reckitt Benckiser.

The agency beat New PHD, The Media Edge and its UK arm Media Planning,

and Universal McCann to win the centralised account.

Reckitt & Colman and Benckiser merged last November. The household

giant’s brand portfolio includes Lemsip, Vanish, Dettol, Finish, Harpic,

Dettox, Immac, Disprin and Disprol.

OMD, BMP Solutions’ sister agency, previously handled the pounds 9

million Benckiser UK media account and Reckitt & Colman’s household

products arm, while Carat held the media brief for Reckitt & Colman

pharmaceuticals.

OMB still handles Reckitt Benckiser’s cosmetics and fragrance division,

which houses Rimmel, Sensiq and Lancaster.

Most of Reckitt Benckiser’s brands are advertised heavily on TV with

some press presence, while several products, including the Dettox range,

have added outdoor to the media schedule. Lemsip favours TV, spending 94

per cent of its budget on the medium, according to fourth- quarter

figures from AC Nielsen MMS.
