BMP triumphs with Volkswagen work at ’98 BTAA ceremony

British Television Advertising Awards on Wednesday evening.



The agency and client pairing won the top two TV prizes at the

ceremony.



BMP’s ’lamp post’ commercial, produced by Outsider, scooped the ITV gold

award for the best TV commercial.



The VW ’affordability’ campaign, of which ’lamp post’ is a part, and the

VW Passat campaign shared the Tape Gallery gold award for best series of

commercials.



Leagas Delaney’s ’Perfect Day’ promotion for the BBC took the Digital

Film at the Moving Picture Company award for the best cinema

commercial.



Frank Lowe won the Channel 4 Chairman’s award.



The night’s other major honours, the AFM Lighting award for best agency

and the Panavision award for the top production company, went

respectively to BMP DDB - which last won this accolade in 1994 - and the

Paul Weiland Film Company, for the fifth year in succession.
