Bob Tyrell quits the Henley Centre

- Bob Tyrell, the former chief executive and chairman of the WPP Group owned research company, the Henley Centre, has joined start-up strategy consultancy, Cognosis, as non executive development partner.

- Bob Tyrell, the former chief executive and chairman of the WPP Group owned research company, the Henley Centre, has joined start-up strategy consultancy, Cognosis, as non executive development partner.

Tyrell led a management buyout of the Henley Centre from Mintel in 1986. The management subsequently sold the company under a five year 'earn-out' to WPP. He was a non-executive director at the Henley Centre until his decision to join Cognosis.

Cognosis, described as a brand and market driven management consultancy, was formed recently by former United Distillers market development and planning director, Richard Brown, with senior UD planners, Neville Farrington and Michael Laird.
