The British Television Advertising Awards 1999: Top Production Company - The Panavision Award/Gorgeous Enterprises

After just four years in existence and less than two with Frank Budgen joining Chris Palmer as a partner in the business, Gorgeous scoops this coveted award. But no one in the production industry would deny its status as one of the best shops in town. And by anyone’s standards, it has had an outstanding year - with its name on the honours for three BTAA gold awards and for the ITV Award for the best television commercial of the year. This year it has been behind the creation of the superb ’Double Life’ ad for Sony Playstation, as well as the Sony Stamina Camcorder work, the BBC’s ’Future Generations’ and inspirational advertising in the shape of Lego’s ’Box’ ad.

How the awards are calculated: the ITV Award is given ten points, gold

awards seven points, silver awards four points and bronze awards two

points. In cases where the same commercial has won more than one award,

only the highest counts. Companies must have won awards for more than

one client to qualify. Previous winners: Paul Weiland Film Company
