LONDON (Brand Republic) - British utilities are unprepared for the online boom, according to a report by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The report said that UK utilities could decline or disappear if they did not act. While 77% of companies questioned said online business was an important part of their strategy, 30% had not assigned board responsibilities for new media.

Utility companies expect 56% of their domestic customers and 76% of their business customers to access their services via the internet.
