- Sholto Douglas-Home, BT's head of consumer advertising, has been appointed by the New Millennium Experience Company as director of marketing and communications.
The appointment is a secondment for Douglas-Home, who will remain a member of BT staff, but will spend two years with the NMEC beginning on 1 September.
His appointment follows the completion of the Millennium Dome in Greenwich London, which was officially opened by Prime Minister Tony Blair yesterday.
Liam Kane, NMEC managing director, said: "We are delighted that Sholto has agreed to join the team and are grateful to BT for agreeing to release him."
Douglas-Home has been BT's advertising chief for over two years. Among the many successful campaigns he has overseen is the award winning "It's good to talk" work.
Douglas-Home, said: "At BT I already have the best job in advertising. Now I also have the opportunity not just of a lifetime but of a millennium."
BT is a founding partner of the Millennium Experience, backing the project to the tune of £12 million.
