Bud Light spot wins Kinsale's TV Grand Prix

Downtown Partners' "history" execution for Bud Light beat Honda "cog" to take the Grand Prix in the television category at this year's Kinsale festival, which was held last weekend.

"History" also picked up gold in the alcoholic drinks category, as well as the Worldwinner category.

The Palme D'Or went to Partizan, which won the same accolade earlier this summer at the Cannes International Advertising Festival. Partizan's Antoine Bardou-Jacquet directed "cog" for Wieden & Kennedy and his fellow Partizan director Eric Lynne picked up a gold and silver for "checkout" and "tips" for United Airlines through Fallon. Dominic Murphy, another Partizan director, won a silver for Marmite's "lifeguard" for BMP DDB, as well as a bronze for Clemmow Hornby Inge's "jump" for Butchers.

CHI also picked up a gold for Tango "helmet". The spot was directed by Noam Murro, who recently moved from MJZ to Independent.

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO's Wrangler "cafe" picked up gold in the cinema and fashion categories. The agency also won a gold award for its "haircut" spot for Yellow Pages starring James Nesbitt.

TBWA\London's John Smith's campaign picked up gold, silver and bronze in the television idents category. The television advertising was entered in last year's festival.

The Grand Prix in the radio category went to DDB Chicago for its "real men of genius" series for Budweiser, while McCann-Erickson Dublin won the Irish TV Grand Prix for its Heineken Green Energy Festival campaign.
