South West Trains has moved its media account out of the
full-service agency Court Burkitt and into New PHD.
The media planning and buying account, worth pounds 600,000 last year,
has moved to New PHD without a pitch.
Court Burkitt has worked on the media account since its appointment in
June 1998 following a four-way pitch against Griffin Bacal, Banks
Hoggins O’Shea and the below-the-line shop BCR.
South West Trains’ head of marketing, Haley Leslie, confirmed the
appointment but declined to comment on the decision. She emphasised that
there would be no creative review.
It is understood that New PHD’s specialist regional unit, Space Station,
will work on the account. No-one at New PHD or Court Burkitt was
available for comment.
South West Trains is owned by Stagecoach, which acquired the rail
company when it was privatised in 1996. The railway franchise operates
services between London and south-west England.
