Business Performance League 13 May 1996

It was yet another excellent week for M&C Saatchi, which scooped the pounds 12 million account for Courage’s flagship lager brand, Foster’s. It was a win that was long in gestation, but coming hot on the heels of the agency’s pounds 9.6 million Pedigree Whiskas win (Campaign, 3 May), it leaves M&C Saatchi way out in front at the top of the table.

It was yet another excellent week for M&C Saatchi, which scooped the

pounds 12 million account for Courage’s flagship lager brand, Foster’s.

It was a win that was long in gestation, but coming hot on the heels of

the agency’s pounds 9.6 million Pedigree Whiskas win (Campaign, 3 May),

it leaves M&C Saatchi way out in front at the top of the table.

The competition in the chasing group is hotting up, however, following

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO’s success in the pounds 12 million W. H. Smith

pitch. And Saatchi and Saatchi is also gently nudging its way up the

table on the back of its pounds 5 million Channel 5 coup two weeks ago

and the pounds 4 million Calder’s Ale win last week.

We await client confirmation on the UK budget for Euro RSCG’s Airbus

Industrie pan-European victory. For now, we have credited the agency

with the pounds 300,000 spent by the client in 1995.
