Business Performance League 24 June 1996

They think it’s all over. It probably is now. M&C Saatchi’s pounds 13 million Dixons bonanza last week has made the one-year-old agency almost unassailable at the top of the business performance league. And there will be more to come once Sears allocates a budget to the Richards chain account also picked up last week by Maurice and Charles’s offspring.

They think it’s all over. It probably is now. M&C Saatchi’s pounds 13

million Dixons bonanza last week has made the one-year-old agency almost

unassailable at the top of the business performance league. And there

will be more to come once Sears allocates a budget to the Richards chain

account also picked up last week by Maurice and Charles’s offspring.

Down among the mortals, it was a good week for some of the less

fashionable agencies around. Lansdown Conquest scooped the pounds 2

million launch account of Granada Sky Broadcasting; Doner Cardwell

Hawkins landed the pounds 1.5 million revamp of Fuller’s London Pride;

and Advertising Principles in Leeds saw off Lowe Howard-Spink among

others to record its largest ever account win - the pounds 7 million

Airtours business.

Elsewhere, we received confirmation of the pounds 4 million-plus budget

planned by Kingsbury, which was won by Banks Hoggins O’Shea in April

(Campaign, 26 April).
