Business Performance League 9 September 1996

Bartle Bogle Hegarty has moved into the top 30 for the first time this year after its pounds 6 million Elida Faberge coup two weeks ago. BBH is actually ninth in terms of billings gained, with a total of pounds 23 million, but the agency has struggled to overcome the early loss of the pounds 15.5 million W. H. Smith account.

Bartle Bogle Hegarty has moved into the top 30 for the first time this

year after its pounds 6 million Elida Faberge coup two weeks ago. BBH is

actually ninth in terms of billings gained, with a total of pounds 23

million, but the agency has struggled to overcome the early loss of the

pounds 15.5 million W. H. Smith account.

Lowe Howard-Spink’s pounds 8 million Saab win, reported two weeks ago

and confirmed last week, pushes the agency into the top ten.

Meanwhile, Saatchi and Saatchi slides two places following the loss of

the Playboy TV account. Its fall means that Publicis moves up a place

without actually winning any business.

However, so tight are the margins between Foote Cone Belding, Publicis,

Lowes and Saatchis in the middle of the top ten that a pounds 2 million

win would see Saatchis leapfrog into fifth place.

Down at the bottom end, J. Walter Thompson Manchester has overtaken its

London parent following its Gala Clubs Bingo win of a fortnight ago.
