More tales reach us about the NABS ’secret lover’ scheme (Diary,

last week). M&C Saatchi staff really took the scheme to heart recently

with their own spate of shenanigans.



While some opted for floral compliments, others went further. The

agency’s head of advertising design, Barry Brand, turned up to the

agency’s party on Friday night in full Highland dress to woo his secret

lover, Bella MacPherson, who is of Scottish descent.



One of the agency TV producers, Sophie Lenszner, scooped top prize with

her professionally recorded version of Girl From Ipanema for her secret

lover, Julian Jeffries. (M&C are now hotly tipped to take top prize at

the Battle of the Bands later this year.)



Stephanie Andrews, head of PR, was wooed by someone with a somewhat

unusual approach to romance - hard-core porn was delivered to her desk.

Even Mickey Doyle, Maurice Saatchi’s chauffeur, got lucky, although he

wasn’t the object of anyone’s affections. He walked off with first prize

in the raffle; a weekend for two in Paris.
