The CampaignLive Fantasy Agency League, sponsored by DoubleClick,
began on Tuesday morning following the presentation on Monday evening of
the Campaign Direct Awards. An elite group of four took the lead with a
very impressive 22 points.
Perversely, the success of Laura Woodley’s agency, Fuzz, owed nothing to
her direct marketing director, Rory Sutherland, who scored no points.
She amassed her points courtesy of the managing director, Chris Parry
(16 points), and the chairman, Derek Bowden (six points). And we thought
Laura’s DM expertise, gained on behalf of her employer, Target Direct,
had given her the edge.
The other three front runners relied on Parry, in real life the chairman
and chief executive of the all-conquering agency of the year, FCA!, and
the highest scoring individual on the night.
They were: Graeme Stirling from Exchange & Mart with F.A.(DD)B; Mehboob
IM Umarji from the COI with Merchant Bankers; and Shirley Tang of
Flextech TV with After Five.
