CAMPAIGN DIARY: A monster success ..

We tend not really to publicise April Fool spoofs, if only because we like to think that we are above that kind of behaviour - but the Sugar Puffs ad in the Sun did make us chuckle. What made us laugh even more was the fact that the company got more than 1,000 replies - some in earnest.

The ad said Honey Monster needed a stand-in. Applicants had to be over 6

feet 6 inches tall and resemble the monster. Of course.

One application was received from the actor who used to play Midland

Bank’s Griffin and who pointed to his extensive training and experience

in making his case for winning the job.
