Staff at Poppy Films were on tenter-hooks last week when it was
discovered that Tony Kaye and ’a Bacardi client’ were hard at work in
cutting rooms next door to each other. Following the well-documented
spat between the self-styled Pluto Warrior, McCann-Erickson and Bacardi,
many feared a violent altercation. Campaign couldn’t resist getting
Kaye’s reaction, but it was tough. Kaye’s refusal to speak via the phone
means he uses an interpreter.

Interpreter: Is Pluto Warrior aware that the Bacardi client was editing
the new Martini ad next door to him at Poppy Films last week?
Interpreter: I was not aware of that ... and quite frankly, it would not
have made any difference ... because I’m not currently talking to
Bacardi. But I did have a conversation with the account director at HHCL
recently ... about what an atrocious execution Paul Arden had made
of ... a terrific little idea ... and in all seriousness ... I offered
to re-shoot it for nothing.
Campaign: Thank-you for your time.
Interpreter: Thank-you for your time. Then: I enjoyed speaking with the
four of us.
We are sure the Diary will continue covering Pluto Warrior’s fascinating
views/stop promoting Kaye’s egregious ramblings (delete as appropriate).
